![]() We learn how much he loves America and the things he did to prove his love for her and fight for what they once had. ![]() It's interesting to read what he thought of America, the other girls and his views about certain things that transpired in the first three books of this series.I'm actually a Prince Maxon fan, but after reading The Guard I began liking Aspen too. Details about King Clarkson's parents are revealed, shedding light on why the King is the way he is, especially towards Prince Maxon. In The Prince we find out how the girls were chosen for The Selection and see the whole process unfold through the eyes of Prince Maxon. The illustrations are pretty too, and that cover - wow! Kiera Cass' books has the most beautiful covers I've ever seen.In The Queen we learn that Queen Amberly used to be a four and has been in love with King Clarkson since she was young. ![]() We also find out what happened two years after Maxon's wedding to The One as well as updates on some of the girls who were eliminated from the Selection. However, Kiera Cass did a wonderful job in Happily Ever After by compiling novellas from the pov's of Queen Amberly, Prince Maxon, Aspen, Marlee, Celeste and Lucy. For one thing I think it's an unnecessary fill-in until the next book comes out. I'm not particularly fond of reading companion books written from different pov's. ![]()
